Technician - Geological Services (Casual Contract)
The Field Technician is responsible for the efficient conduct of surface geological data collection, including but not limited to: rock, soil and sediment sampling, data entry and general project assistance within the exploration and geology department.
This will be a 'casual employee contract' role intended to support the Geological Services team over the month of October 2026 for six weeks; with a strong possibility of ongoing additional work on an ad hoc basis.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Field support to exploration field programmes.
- Ground and heli supported programmes.
- Rock, soil and sediment sampling.
- Geological surveys.
- Geophysical surveys.
Safety:
- Perform all work and associated functions safely:
- Correctly use all PPE.
- Obey all written and verbal health and safety instructions.
- Establish and maintain the highest possible standards of housekeeping and cleanliness in individual work area and mine site in general.
- Attend pre-shift safety and toolbox safety meetings;
- Complete Stop-Think and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) prior to undertaking tasks;
- Report all incidents and near misses and workplace hazards;
- Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) specified for equipment or tasks and be involved in the development and review/revision of procedures when required.
Other:
- Carry out all other duties that may reasonably be required.
- Secondary schooling.
- Full Class 1 drivers’ licence. Ability to drive manual vehicles is preferred.
Preferred:
- Off Road 4WD training.
- First Aid Certification.
Experience:
- Experience in working independently and as part of a field-based team.
- Proven ability to work in the bush in remote locations.
- Physical fitness - can carry equipment and back pack.
- Willing to work outside on steep terrain in all weather.

- Ability to work outdoors.
- Attention to detail with a safety focus.
