Technician - Grounds Maintenance
Job Summary: Responsible for maintaining and repairing physical structures of buildings and grounds of the various the City facilities.
Major Duties: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Operates various equipment and machinery involved in the daily upkeep of parks including farm tractors, grass mowing equipment, passenger vehicles, dump trucks, frontend loaders and other equipment.
- Uses small hand and power tools and equipment.
- Performs routine maintenance on all equipment, machinery and vehicles.
- Performs minor carpentry, plumbing and electrical repairs.
- Responsible for interaction with the inmate crew.
- Responsible for maintenance of athletic fields including dragging, lining, mowing, trimming, etc.
- Picks up litter and empties trash receptacles on a daily basis.
- Cleans and services restrooms and park buildings
- Performs other related duties as required.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no Supervisory responsibilities with the exception of occasional direction of inmate workers, based on information provided by the Maintenance Superintendent.
