Technician - Maintenance

1. Job Summary

To support the Supervisor / Engineer in daily maintenance operations for production equipment, machines, jigs, and fixtures. The role focuses on preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, machine improvement, and minimizing production downtime. The technician is expected to have strong hands-on capability in mechanical, electrical, PLC, and automation-related troubleshooting.

2. Job Scope

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production machines, equipment and jigs/fixtures.
  • Identify the causes of equipment breakdowns and support root-cause analysis and corrective actions to improve machine reliability.
  • Work closely with Production teams to resolve equipment issues and minimize downtime.
  • Support maintenance improvement activities, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives and equipment reliability projects.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic/hydraulic and automation-related equipment issues.
  • Support troubleshooting of PLC-controlled machines and automation systems, including HMI, sensors, actuators, servo drives and inverters/VFDs.
  • Read and interpret basic electrical drawings, pneumatic/hydraulic diagrams and machine manuals.
  • Maintain appropriate records of maintenance activities, troubleshooting findings and corrective actions.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior technicians where required.
  • Follow established safety procedures during maintenance and troubleshooting activities such as Log Out Tag Out (LOTO).
  • Ensure 5S is being carried out at workplace and follow Safety Rules & Regulations.
  • Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned by the Supervisor/Engineer.
  • Diploma or Certificate in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, Industrial Electrical or a related technical field.
