Role summary:The Technician, Refrigeration/HVAC, plays a critical role in maintaining and repairing HVACR systems to ensure operational efficiency and regulatory compliance. About the team:
The Facility Services team ensures the reliable operation and maintenance of HVAC and refrigeration systems across Walmart locations. They perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and safety compliance while coordinating with management and service providers to prioritize tasks effectively. Leveraging technical expertise, the team troubleshoots equipment issues and maintains accurate records and inventory. Focused on integrity, clear communication, and operational excellence, they support Walmart’s mission by creating a dependable environment that consistently delivers quality service and value to customers.
What you'll do:
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair HVAC and refrigeration equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with regulations.
- Perform preventive maintenance and manage workloads with external service providers to maintain system reliability.
- Compile and report budget information, submit warranty claims, and conduct price comparisons for parts and travel costs.
- Manage refrigerant levels, parts inventory, and supplier relationships to support maintenance and repair activities.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and industry standards by following safety policies and environmental guidelines.
- Provide expert advice, develop scopes of work, and collaborate with management and business partners to meet operational goals.
What you'll bring:
- Proven expertise in HVAC repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal system performance.
- Valid HVAC and EPA 608 Technician certifications demonstrating compliance with industry standards.
- Strong knowledge of refrigerant handling, inventory management, and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to interpret and apply HVACR policies, safety protocols, and environmental guidelines effectively.
- Experience managing preventive maintenance and repair projects, including equipment diagnostics and parts procurement.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with management, coworkers, and external partners.
- Commitment to continuous improvement, adaptability, and delivering results aligned with business objectives.

The hourly wage range for this position is $23.00 - $45.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
