What you will do:
Develops innovative solutions to more complex technical problems that arise during start-up.
Researches, evaluates, and recommends new products or equipment upgrades that will meet customer needs.
Monitors and resolves recurring more complex problems to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction.
Manages a team of service technicians to install, configure, modify, and repair products, equipment and systems that have been purchased by the organization's customers and identify and correct the more or most complex problems associated with start-up.
This position functions as local leader for assigned controls technician team while continuing to perform current role responsibilities at a reduced applied rate expectation. Includes responsibility for assigning technicians to projects with the goal of individual technician growth while assuring that the right technician is on the right job. The Tech Leader plays a critical role in the area of technician and apprentice growth and retention. The Tech Leader ensures customer satisfaction by validating that the highest standards of quality efficiency are met by team. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Contributions: This role plays a vital role in ensuring their team meets safety, quality, training and productivity targets. Serves as a recognized subject matter expert/ advisor on technical problems.. Responsible for coaching, supporting, and initially addressing ideas, questions, or concerns of their team and directing it, when necessary, to the appropriate individuals.
Communications: Serves as a team lead to a group of technicians. Typically operates on a office level.

Responsible for meeting team budgeted applied time goals
Aligns team with annual compensation budget
Supports project financial targets through proper project assignments of technicians
Works with technician team to form plans for best possible project execution
Assure that team is utilizing all available tools to achieve maximum efficiency

Technician Growth and Development
Works with technicians to identify areas for development, understand need for improvement, and set specific development goals.
Identify options for meeting development goals; explores environmental supports and barriers; jointly determines appropriate developmental activities.
Responsible for full engagement and oversite of all team member’s Performance & Development Connections (PDC).
Schedules regular one on one performance and progress discussion with team members.
Responsible for annual compensation review with individual team members
Responsible for selecting trainings required for the technicians on the assigned team for each year.
Works closely with Controls ACM and other Tech Leaders to ensure consistent training and skill validation across the region.

Technician Project Assignment
Works closely with techs to understand skill levels and creates learning opportunities to develop technician team
Determine assignment of technicians that ensures the right technician with the correct skillset is aligned with project assignment

Safety
Understand company safety program and perform safety audits as directed by Operations Manager.
Work with Regional EHS Leader and ACM to deliver on a culture of safety and ensure compliance to safety policies within team.
What you will bring:
Must have strong communication, organizational, teaming, mentoring skills.
Must have deep, extensive HVAC controls knowledge and a willingness to teach and lead
Provides excellent coaching as well as determination of quality for customer satisfaction.
Acceptable candidates should currently hold the position of Level 3 controls Technician or Controls Field Project Manager, Project manager.
DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State Must possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations included, but not limited to: DUI, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless/Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.
