D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for a Technology Counsel for their Legal Department. The right candidate will review and negotiate complex commercial transactions and agreements, including licensing and technology agreements. Provide legal guidance and support concerning e-commerce, home sale transactions, marketing, financial services, information technology and other issues that arise
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice in connection with technology agreements, including software as a service agreements, software licenses, cloud services agreements, software implementation and development agreements, professional services agreements, data licensing agreements, non-disclosure agreements and other vendor and commercial technology agreements
- Work with privacy counsel on e-commerce, customer relationship management (CRM) and digital marketing practices and programs for privacy and other compliance issues; draft documentation as necessary
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial and technology transactions, including customer agreements, vendor contracts, SaaS agreements, data processing and security addenda, MSAs, and licensing agreements
- Provide practical, business-oriented guidance on risk allocation, limitation of liability, indemnity, security obligations, privacy terms, and other legal and business risks presented by technology transactions
- Interact daily with personnel across the company, including information technology, compliance, information security, privacy, procurement, financial services, marketing, compliance and other business teams, regarding a broad array of technology, contracting and compliance issues including those typically encountered in the home building industry and the mortgage and title businesses
- Manage and prioritize multiple projects; analyze business and legal risks presented by these projects, coordinate with appropriate stakeholders; and bring these projects to a successful conclusion
- Conduct all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company
