We are seeking a visionary and hands-on Product Manager - Vice President to join our Banking Technology group. This is a strategic role designed for a product - minded leader who can bridge the gap between complex regulatory obligations and modern automated engineering workflows.
You will be responsible for enhancing the automation of Risk & Controls frameworks by identifying high-impact opportunities for proactive compliance integration and leading the end-to-end lifecycle from concept to scaled production. You will be heavier on the "product" side-defining the product strategy, backlog, and integration roadmap-while maintaining the deep technical and risk expertise to guide a cross-functional team in building and shipping world-class, control-integrated, and highly resilient applications.
Responsibilities
- Define the Vision: Own the product backlog and implementation strategy for Risk & Controls initiatives within Banking Technology. Analyze internal control requirements, and pain points to identify and champion new opportunities for automated, continuous compliance.
- Drive the Roadmap: Translate the risk and compliance vision into a clear, actionable backlog. Develop, prioritize, and groom features, epics, and user stories to guide the engineering team.
- Lead from the Front: Act as the key product and stream leader and establish modern agile best practices which foster a culture of engineering excellence and rapid, risk-aware iteration.
- Bridge Risk and Tech: Serve as the primary liaison between risk control partners, engineering teams, and product owners. Articulate complex regulatory and compliance requirements into clear technical specifications, user stories, and automated gateways.
- Hands-On Workflow Integration: Be prepared to get hands-on with building initial control validation models, mock gateway inputs, and automated workflows to validate integration patterns quickly.
- Champion and Influence: Influence and negotiate with senior control leadership (Risk, Compliance, Audit) to secure approval and adoption of automated, AI-driven compliance gates. Communicate progress, control outcomes, and milestones effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Manage Risk and Compliance: Uphold the firm's commitment to risk management and compliance. Ensure that all product decisions and technical implementations within the platform adhere to the highest standards of security, ethics, and regulatory requirements, safeguarding the firm and its clients.
- Experience: Substantial demonstratable experience in technology, with a proven track record of shipping software or platform products in a product-centric or agile role.
- Product & Engineering Hybrid: Demonstrated experience in a role that blends product management (defining the "what" and "why") with software engineering (defining the "how").
- AI/ML Expertise: Deep subject matter expertise in applying modern AI/ML techniques to solve real-world business problems. Experience with NLP, predictive modeling, or generative AI is highly desirable.
- Risk, Control & Compliance Expertise: Subject matter expertise in applying modern risk frameworks, regulatory requirements and continuous auditing/testing techniques.
- Domain Knowledge: A strong understanding of core banking and financial technology domains (e.g., commercial banking, risk, transaction services, capital markets).
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, agile environment. Experience with product management and influence without direct authority.
- Stakeholder Management: Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to build consensus among senior risk partners and diverse technology stakeholders.
- Technical Acumen: While this is a product-heavy role, you should have a strong foundation in software engineering principles, automated testing, and be comfortable discussing technical controls, APIs, and systems of records with your team.
