Technology Systems Administrator
OVERVIEW: The Technology Systems Administrator deploys, manages and supports the organization's technology assets including infrastructure, network, server, storage, security, and cloud technologies, while following predefined strategy and roadmap. The position is responsible for overall end user support, maintenance plans of IT infrastructure systems, and the overall improvement of user experience, systems security, performance, capacity and reliability. The Technology Systems Administrator will be responsible for a methodical and disciplined approach for the implementation, technical management and lifecycle management of the technology related systems, including end user systems, software, peripherals and other components. Additionally, the Technology Systems Administrator will be responsible for maintaining the security of the company's computer systems; ensuring information security following proper security requirements, policies, procedures, measures and system resources. The Technology Systems Administrator will maintain a competitive edge through continuous self-development as a core competency and freely share relevant information for the benefit of the entire IT team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure systems availability, reliability and integrity by monitoring, maintaining and improving related system aspects (patching, backups, alerting, monitoring, performance benchmarking, access review, security testing, upgrades).
- Implement roadmap plans for IT infrastructure, end-user compute, SaaS platforms and applications, servers, network, storage, including capacity, obsolescence and lifecycle activities.
- Provide support of application delivery platforms for end user enterprise applications; share system knowledge with other IT team members.
- Assist with the implementation and administration of IT infrastructure systems to provide load balancing, communication security, authentication controls and other benefits to the environment.
- Enforce IT related security policies and controls by following defined procedures and standards.
- Adhere to defined IT Sarbanes Oxley (ITGC) and NIST controls.
- Maintain appropriate documentation, including drawings, configurations, settings and recovery plans.
- Ensure an effective level of cross training and knowledge transference.
- Assist in root cause analysis activities to prevent recurring problems.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software components related to enterprise technology systems.
- Maintain the necessary environments (development, test, UAT, production, etc.) for efficient operation and support of systems.
- Support WAN/LAN/WLAN environment and work with service providers on service impairments and improvements.
- Provide expert problem solving and technical judgment to troubleshoot system problems by working with appropriate teams to diagnose and recommend solutions.
- Make recommendations for improvement if current capacity of any system proves to be inadequate.
- Maintain relationships with related partners, vendors, and suppliers.
- Evaluate tools, vendors, and products as needed.
- Participate in the planning of solutions and deployment strategies including proof of concepts, pilots, conversions, upgrades, and rollouts.
- Implement automation procedures to simplify daily systems support activities.
- Adhere to Technology Team established development and support processes, team and company policies and best practices.
- Communicate and engage effectively with Technology Team, functional experts, or other key personnel to understand and validate user requirements and ensure the solutions meet requirements.
- Research and evaluate current and emerging technologies and stay abreast of new technologies and solutions that will help increase productivity, innovation, and business capabilities.
- Maintain a competitive (technology and security) edge through continuous self-development as a core competency and freely share relevant information for the benefit of the entire Technology Team.

KEY SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS, engineering or related program or directly related experience and certification beyond minimums will be considered.
- Minimum 1 year of directly related experience in enterprise environment required.
- CCNA, CCSP, MCSE, NIST CSF experience required and certification is preferred.
- Data Center and IT systems administration experience required.
- Knowledge of common IT solutions from leading technology providers.
- Experience in support and maintenance of Windows Server, Linux Server, MS Azure, and VMware technologies is required.
- Experience with MS SQL Server administration desired.
- Office 365 implementation and administration, or similar, required.
- Network Infrastructure design, implementation, and management including routers, load balancers, and firewalls is required. Experience with solutions from Palo Alto, VeloCloud, and Meraki is desired.
- Extremely strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills sharing technical details with team members, project teams, and stakeholders and produces ideas, solutions, and materials for Technology Team Leadership.
- Self-starter and work with minimal supervision with excellent time management, documentation, and relationship management skills.
KEY RESULTS:
- Deliver and/or assist with assigned roadmap items (infrastructure upgrades, migrations, infrastructure changes) on time and within scope
- Complete any assigned tasks, proof-of-concepts or pilots within agreed timeline
- All changes logged in a change ticket prior to implementation, except in emergencies, where a retroactive change ticket is necessary
- Complete internal cross-training on at least two team members' primary responsibilities
- On-call response within SLA for 100% incidents logged
