Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

  • Lead the integration of new systems and emerging technologies.
  • Conduct testing, troubleshooting, and continuous maintenance of applications, technologies, and platforms.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement automated and AI solutions.
  • Validate or Qualify computer system applications or platforms utilizing Lilly Computer System and Global Quality procedures.
  • Serve as a liaison between local and corporate systems groups, cross-functional or cross-site teams.
  • Independently apply technology, techniques, and tools to achieve business results.
  • Growing understanding of one or more aspects of the system and is able to operate with increasingly limited coaching and supervision.
  • Design, configure, develop, implement, enhance, and maintain computer systems.
  • Build solutions using an Agile framework across the full solution lifecycle: design, implement, automate, modernize, maintain, and optimize.
  • Integrate enterprise systems including using APIs, middleware, and messaging frameworks.
  • Monitor system performance; proactively troubleshoot technical issues to maintain reliability.
  • Conduct testing, troubleshooting, and ongoing maintenance of systems to ensure system reliability and accuracy of data.
  • Collaborate with IT, quality, and business teams to gather requirements and deliver technical solutions.
  • Stay current with emerging trends, technologies, and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy and security regulations.

Basic Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in and attending school, pursuing a bachelor's or a master’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Information Technology, Security or a related technical field with expected graduation by August 2027.
  • Completion of the 2026 Lilly technology summer internship or spring fellowship.
  • Qualified applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Lilly will not provide support for or sponsor work authorization or visas for this role, including but not limited to F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, F-1 STEM OPT, J-1, H-1B, TN, O-1, E-3, H-1B1, or L-1.

Additional Skills & Preferences

  • Prior experience using AI tools (e.g., generative AI platforms, automation tools, or AI-assisted research/analytics tools) in an academic, project, or work setting.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to resolve complex technical issues under pressure.
  • Effective communication (oral and written) skills. Ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Leadership experience inside and/or outside the classroom.
  • Familiarity or exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and hybrid on-premise/cloud architectures.
  • Experience with data analytics, database management systems, and reporting.
  • Knowledge of ITIL service management practices and tooling (ServiceNow or equivalent).
  • Ability to work Agile/Scrum frameworks and collaborative, cross-functional environments.

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is

$82,000 (Bachelors) - $100,000 (Masters)

Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
