THE ROLE

Join our Campervan Technician Program and turn your mechanical skills into a career that takes you across Europe.

We are looking for talented, hands-on individuals with a passion for mechanics, craftsmanship, and problem-solving to help keep our campervan fleet in top condition. In this role, you will play a key part in making sure our vehicles are always road-ready, safe, and prepared to deliver unforgettable travel experiences to our customers.

This program is designed to train skilled technicians to work on Indie Campers’ fleet across Europe. Your journey starts in Lisbon, where you will complete an immersive training period to learn how our campervans work and how our workshops operate. After training and evaluation, successful candidates will have the opportunity to join one of our European depots as a Campervan Technician.

As part of our team, you will work closely with both local and regional teams, using your technical expertise to maintain the fleet at the highest standards. Your work will have a direct impact on operational efficiency, vehicle availability, and customer satisfaction.

WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?

  • Conduct systematic inspection to vehicles and diagnose problems on vehicles’ mechanical, electrical, heating, and water systems;
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on campervans and motorhomes, including:
    • Preventive and corrective maintenance
    • Light bodywork repairs that involve spare parts replacement (lightbulbs, windows, side mirrors)
    • Campervan spare parts substitution and repairs
    • Campervan appliances troubleshooting and repairs
  • Maintain and develop the relationships with external;
  • Coordinating the execution of vehicles’ interventions with external suppliers and regional teams;
  • Maintain all vehicle information systems updated according to the established procedures;
  • Move campervans to and from local vendors, parking facilities or other depots;
  • Maintain depot equipment and spare parts organized and clean;
  • Maintain spare parts inventory systems updated at all times.

As part of the local team, you will also be part of the daily operations of the depot and will execute tasks related to that effect, namely:

  • Preparation of vehicles and equipment for customers;
  • Assist with handling incoming reservations, welcoming guests and taking care of check-ins and check-outs;
  • Receive and collect shipments and supplies, organize them in storage area, register item consumption and new orders;
  • Maintain depot equipment, extras and consumables stored at the depot.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Education or certified training in mechanics, mechatronics, or a similar technical program within the automotive industry; or a minimum of 2 years of proven experience in a relevant professional environment, such as mechanical repair and maintenance, automotive workshops, heavy machinery maintenance, or specialized vehicle servicing;
  • Ability to diagnose complex issues across electrical, water, and mechanical systems;
  • High level of precision when using workshop tools and carrying out repairs;
  • Fluency in English;
  • Eligibility to work in Europe, a valid driver’s license, and confidence in driving a campervan;
  • Availability to work on weekends and public holidays;
  • Full eligibility and willingness to relocate permanently to a European location outside of Portugal.
