Tele‐control /Automation Engineer (for Water Mega Reservoirs)

Job Responsibilities

• Ensures daily automation, control systems, DCS, SCADA, PLC networking operation and maintenance, including fault detection and repair.
• Updates and maintains SCADA/DCS/PLC networking systems database with latest information on work activities.
• Integrates new equipment and performs software upgrades of installed automation and control systems.
• Supports development, integration, and implementation of DCS/SCADA database maintenance plans to improve productivity and align with Kahramaa goals.
• Provides support to Kahramaa personnel in design, development, implementation, and commissioning of automation and control systems.
• Prepares spare parts requirements and ordering for in-house system requirements.
• Co‑ordinates project works (GTC, LTC) and reviews technical documents, design drawings, project documentation, and reports.
• Oversees project commissioning, scope of work preparation, testing, and commissioning of in‑house projects.
• Evaluates and validates PTW documents for preventive and corrective maintenance works.
• Prepares annual maintenance plans and routine maintenance & fault attendance instructions for technicians.
• Verifies and follows up on fault reports with other departments.
• Co‑ordinates with water operation engineers and field specialists for testing and troubleshooting.
• Prepares spare parts lists and conducts tests to verify technical specifications.
• Travels extensively within Qatar and attends standby calls from NWCC Water Operation Control during office and out‑of‑office hours.
• Ensures compliance of all activities with Kahramaa health and safety regulations.

General Requirements

The role holder is responsible for ensuring maintenance and fault rectification of automation (control and networking systems) and effective maintenance of DCS/SCADA/PLC & networking system database installed in water mega reservoirs and pumping stations.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electronics/Instrumentation & Control/Electrical Engineering.
• More than 7 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years of supervisory experience in water reservoirs, pumping stations, water utilities, or OEMs.
• Hands‑on experience with major PLC, RTU, networking, DCS & SCADA systems.
• Knowledge of industrial protocols, cyber security practices for OT systems, and field instrument maintenance.
• Proficiency with instrument loop drawings, electrical hookup drawings, P&IDs, and wiring diagrams.
• Ability to work with different end users/teams, project management, and problem‑solving efficiency.
• Valid Qatar driving license.
• Written and spoken English essential; Arabic preferred.
