Telecom Attendant
Summary
Handles switchboard calls and emergency paging for a healthcare provider, ensuring clear communication and proper etiquette during evening shifts.
Position Summary:
Saturday to Wednesday, 3 PM to 11:30 PM.
To effectively handle communications and codes through the switchboard and to relay calls and messages to the proper person or department using a pleasant, clear phone voice and proper etiquette skills so that customers perceive excellent, competent service.
- Operates the PBX answering incoming and in-house call requests.
- Responds to all emergency codes quickly and calmly with appropriate overhead paging.
- Contacts patients for an address update as indicated by Supervisor.
- Reviews updates in the communication book and initial memos.
- Inventories contents of safe at the beginning of each shift in the presence of a security guard.
- Special Skills: Must be able to react quickly and calmly to emergency situations and work without direct supervision. Must possess good interpersonal skills. Must exude excellent communication skills including proper phone etiquette.
- Minimum Requirements
- Experience: On the job training.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
- Preferred Requirements
- Experience: Previous switchboard or telephone experience.
