Telecom Attendant
Position Summary
To effectively handle communications and codes through the switchboard and to relay calls and messages to the proper person or department using a pleasant, clear phone voice and proper etiquette skills so that customers perceive excellent, competent service.
- Operates the PBX answering incoming and in-house call requests.
- Responds to all emergency codes quickly and calmly with appropriate overhead paging.
- Contacts patients for an address update as indicated by Supervisor.
- Reviews updates in the communication book and initial memos.
- Inventories contents of safe at the beginning of each shift in the presence of a security guard.
- Assigns loaner beepers and programs new beepers.
- Ensures courteous and professional dialog with all customers.
- Other related job tasks or responsibilities as assigned
- Minimum Requirements
- Special Skills:
- Must be able to react quickly and calmly to emergency situations and work without direct supervision.
- Must possess good interpersonal skills.
- Must exude excellent communication skills including proper phone etiquette.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
- Experience: On the job training.
