About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Telecommunications Network Engineer to join our team.
In this role, you will be responsible for planning, designing, analysing and supporting telecommunications network infrastructure across NBN projects.
Duties
- Plan, design and develop telecommunications network infrastructure for civil and utility projects.
- Analyse project requirements and determine appropriate network configurations, equipment and technical solutions.
- Prepare and review telecommunications network plans, technical drawings, specifications and engineering documentation.
- Assess the capacity, performance and reliability of telecommunications networks and recommend improvements where required.
- Provide technical and engineering support during the installation, testing and commissioning of telecommunications infrastructure.
- Analyse network faults, performance issues and technical problems and develop appropriate engineering solutions.
- Coordinate with project managers, civil crews, field technicians, subcontractors and other stakeholders to ensure telecommunications works are completed in accordance with project requirements.
- Review network testing and commissioning results to ensure compliance with applicable technical standards and specifications.
- Provide technical input into the planning and delivery of underground and above-ground telecommunications infrastructure.
- Ensure telecommunications designs and engineering activities comply with relevant industry, safety, regulatory and client requirements.
- Prepare technical reports, network documentation, project records and engineering recommendations.
- Assist with network upgrades, modifications, expansions and infrastructure improvement projects.
- Provide technical advice regarding the integration of telecommunications infrastructure with broader civil and utility works.
Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Relevant qualifications in telecommunications engineering, electronic engineering, communications engineering or a related field.
- Experience in telecommunications network engineering, network design or a similar technical role.
- Experience working with NBN or comparable telecommunications network infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of fibre optic networks and technologies including FTTP, FTTC and HFC.
- Experience interpreting and preparing network plans, technical drawings and engineering documentation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and fault-diagnosis skills.
- Ability to work effectively with field teams, contractors, project managers and other stakeholders.
- A current Australian Driver Licence.
- A White Card.
