Telecommunications Operator- PART TIME
Summary
Handles incoming calls for a hospital, routes calls, pages staff, and assists with information requests during evening shifts.
Job Description PT 15 hrs 3pm-11pm
Answers and routes calls received by the Hospital's main telephone number. Operates the PBX telephone console. Performs miscellaneous clerical duties.
Job Responsibility
- * Answers and routes calls received by the main Hospital telephone number.
- * Provides patient room and visiting hours information assistance to callers.
- * Pages authorized personnel overhead and/or on paging system.
- * Monitors all emergency alarms and dispatches appropriate response teams.
- * Maintains appropriate logs and records.
- * Provides access to telephonic interpreter services for callers with limited English proficiency.
- Performs related duties, as required.

Job Qualification
- High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
- Ability to work additional shifts, as needed.
- Gracious manners, pleasant speaking voice, calm demeanor and the ability to work under stress.
- Flexibility to work every weekend highly preferred.
