Interim General Dentist – SmileHQ, Washington, DC
Late Nov 2026 – Apr 2027 | Mon / Wed / Fri | $800-$1000 per day

About the role
SmileHQ is looking for a confident, patient-focused general dentist to serve as Interim Dentist at our Northwest DC office while our primary dentist is on leave. The engagement runs from late November 2026 through April 2027, three days a week:

• Monday: 8:00am – 4:00pm
• Wednesday: 9:00am – 6:00pm
• Friday: 9:00am – 4:00pm

You'll start with a full, well-maintained patient schedule on day one. Your team includes experienced hygienists, assistants, and front-office staff who know the patients and the systems. You focus on dentistry, and we handle the rest.

What you'll do

• Provide comprehensive general dentistry for patients of all ages: exams, restorative, endodontics, extractions, crown and bridge, and preventive care
• Diagnose, present, and carry out treatment plans, keeping existing patients' care on track
• Supervise and collaborate with hygienists and dental assistants, including hygiene exams
• Keep clinical notes accurate and timely in our electronic records
• Follow OSHA, HIPAA, and DC Board of Dentistry standards

What you'll need

• DDS or DMD from a CODA-accredited program
• Active, unrestricted DC dental license
• Active DEA registration and DC Controlled Substances Registration
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Individual NPI, and readiness to begin insurance credentialing immediately
• At least 1–2 years of clinical experience preferred; new grads with GPR/AEGD training are welcome to apply
• A strong chairside manner and clear communication with patients and staff
