Location: Remote

Schedule & Assignment: This is a temporary, part-time or full-time position, with the expected assignment length to be around six months. The specific work schedule can be established based on business needs and candidate availability. Because payroll support is a key responsibility of this role, availability during critical payroll processing periods may be required.

Pay: $20-$25 hourly

Role and Responsibilities

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized HR Coordinator – Payroll & Projects to provide temporary, part-time support to our People Team. This role will primarily assist with payroll administration in UKG Ready, while also supporting a variety of HR projects, employee data needs, and day-to-day administrative activities.

This is a great opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys working with systems and data, has strong attention to detail, and is comfortable jumping in wherever support is needed. The ideal candidate will have previous payroll or HRIS experience and be able to work independently while partnering closely with members of the People Team.

Payroll & HRIS Support

  • Assist with payroll preparation and processing within UKG Ready
  • Review payroll data for accuracy and identify discrepancies requiring follow-up
  • Assist with employee changes impacting payroll, including new hires, terminations, compensation changes, deductions, and other employee updates
  • Support payroll audits and reconciliation activities
  • Maintain accurate employee information within UKG Ready
  • Assist with payroll-related reporting and data requests
  • Partner with People Team members to research and resolve payroll or employee data questions
  • Maintain confidentiality when handling employee, payroll, and compensation information

HR Projects & Administrative Support

  • Provide administrative support for People Team projects and initiatives
  • Assist with employee data audits, reporting, and records maintenance
  • Support onboarding and offboarding activities as needed
  • Assist with HRIS data entry and system cleanup projects
  • Prepare spreadsheets, reports, communications, and other HR documentation
  • Organize and maintain electronic employee records and HR documentation
  • Support process documentation and the development or updating of HR procedures
  • Assist with other People Team priorities and administrative tasks as needed

Requirements/Skills

  • 1–3 years of experience in Human Resources, payroll, HR operations, or a related area preferred
  • Previous experience supporting payroll processing strongly preferred
  • Experience with UKG Ready preferred; experience with another HRIS/payroll platform will also be considered
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
  • Comfortable working with spreadsheets, employee data, and HR systems
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adjust as business needs change
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment when working with sensitive employee information
  • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
