A warm, thoughtful family of four on Manhattan's Upper East Side is seeking an experienced Temporary Private Chef for flexible coverage during the holiday period.
The family values delicious, beautifully prepared, nutritionally balanced food and appreciates a chef who combines culinary creativity with organization, discretion, and a genuine enjoyment of private service. They are looking for someone collaborative, grounded, and adaptable, with excellent communication skills and an easy, professional presence in a staffed home.
Responsibilities
Prepare lunch and dinner for the principals, along with dinner for two children (ages 9 and 5½) and their nanny.
Plan thoughtful, varied menus in collaboration with the Principal.
Handle ingredient sourcing, grocery shopping, and meal preparation.
Maintain an impeccably clean and organized kitchen.
Work respectfully and seamlessly alongside other household staff.
Culinary Preferences
The family enjoys Mediterranean, Italian, Asian, French, and New American cuisine, emphasizing fresh, flavorful, nutritionally mindful meals with room for occasional indulgences.
The household is generally kosher (no pork or shellfish), though not strictly observant. Strong homemade pasta skills are a plus!
