Temporary Receptionist/Cashier

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily, and have the ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions in person-to person and small group situations with customers, clients, general public and other employees of the organization.

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

1. Serves as receptionist on rotating basis, assists with answering phone, greeting visitors, delivering inter-office mail, distributing employment application forms and other information as required
2. Accepts payment for utility services, deposits, reconnect fees, and returned checks from walk-in and drive-thru customers; explains bills to customers or refers to appropriate personnel
3. Balances payments from night-depository and mail; completes paperwork; matches payments and stubs, inspects envelopes to verify that payments are removed before destruction
4. Balances daily cash drawer
5. Prepares and forwards letters to customers regarding excessive water usage
6. Processes all items returned for insufficient funds; follows-up as necessary with customer until item is picked up or prepares disconnect order; maintains credit histories for customers with returned items and list of customers with three or more returned items
7. Accepts money from water loading station and processes via cash drawer
8. Prepares reports as required (e.g., monthly insufficient funds report, water loading station report and excessive water letter and reread report.)
9. General filing for all cable service orders and customer service paperwork monthly
10. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned

• Qualified applicants must have a high school education or equivalent
• 12 to 18 months related cashier experience
