Territory Sales Manager

Purpose of Position:

Trelleborg is a world leader in engineered polymer solutions that seal, damp and protect critical applications in demanding environments. Our innovative engineering solutions accelerate performance for our customers in a sustainable way. By providing products and solutions in 18 different industries, our products can be found from the seabed to outer space.

Trelleborg Sealing Solutions is seeking a high-impact Territory Sales Manager (TSM) for our CRC distribution business to drive growth across untapped and underdeveloped markets, including Fluid Power, Food and Beverage, Water, General Industrial, and Energy, with a focus on both OEM and MRO opportunities. This role is built for a hunter - someone energized by opening new accounts, displacing competitors, and creating demand where opportunities have not yet been developed. The TSM will serve as a market maker, business strategist, and technical consultant, working cross-functionally to deliver customer value and accelerate profitable revenue growth.

Essential Functions:

New Business Development & Market Creation

  • Identify, target, and aggressively pursue new business opportunities across assigned industrial sectors.
  • Prospect through cold calls, LinkedIn, virtual outreach, and in-person visits to create a robust sales funnel.
  • Qualify new opportunities by assessing customer needs, technical requirements, and market potential.
  • Use creative, solution-driven selling to penetrate accounts and convert prospects into long-term partners.
  • Effectively communicate CRC Distribution’s value proposition, including technical capabilities and product advantages.

Territory Strategy & Growth Execution

  • Build and execute a territory plan focused on market penetration, competitive takeaways, and revenue acceleration.
  • Set and exceed aggressive KPIs and sales targets for account acquisition and market share expansion.
  • Use data tools (CRM, dashboards, spreadsheets) to track pipeline velocity, customer engagement, and conversion performance.

Customer Ownership & Value Delivery

  • Own key accounts and become a trusted advisor to operators, engineers, and procurement stakeholders.
  • Deliver consultative support with an emphasis on technical application, product fit, and performance optimization.
  • Proactively resolve customer issues, maintain high responsiveness, and foster customer advocacy.
  • Drive account growth through upselling, cross-selling, and expansion opportunities.

Sales Strategy & Collaboration:

  • Work closely with internal teams including engineering, customer service, and marketing to align efforts and execute strategic plans.
  • Participate in special projects, promotions, and trade events to support business growth.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer activity records in CRM (e.g., HubSpot), including call notes, pipeline stages, and action items.
  • Provide feedback to leadership and marketing based on market trends, competitive intelligence, and customer insights.

Product & Industry Intelligence

  • Stay sharp on CRC’s portfolio and how our components solve real-world challenges in fluid power and hydraulic systems.
  • Monitor trends in industrial technology, sustainability, and maintenance best practices to inform customer conversations.
  • Educate and influence buyers with compelling use cases, ROI-focused proposals, and performance insights.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Exceptional hunting mentality with a passion for winning new business and disrupting established competitors.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a bias toward action, experimentation, and ownership.
  • Strong technical curiosity — able to understand hydraulic/mechanical systems and translate features into value.
  • Confident communicator with persuasive presentation skills in both virtual and in-person settings.
  • Organized, accountable, and self-driven with the ability to prioritize high-reward opportunities.
  • Comfortable with 50% travel across the territory for face-to-face selling and relationship-building.

Experience and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (Mechanical Engineering or related technical field ideal).
  • Minimum 5 years of outside sales success — preferably in industrial, mechanical, or fluid power industries.
  • Experience using CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot), sales analytics, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must pass background check and drug screening.

Core Competencies

  • Hunter Instinct: Energized by identifying and landing new accounts.
  • Strategic Thinking: Aligns daily activity with long-term growth plans.
  • Technical Fluency: Leverages product knowledge to create compelling solutions.
  • Agility: Adjusts quickly in fast-paced, competitive selling environments.
  • Resilience: Overcomes objections, setbacks, and long sales cycles with persistence.
  • Team-First Attitude: Collaborates across departments to win together.
  • Customer Insight: Listens deeply and responds with relevance and impact

Compensation

  • $30,000 base salary plus commission
  • Company will provide a baseline commission to allow for territory establishment for the first 18 months.
