Work Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:15 AM–4:30 PM Alberta Time
Hours: 36.25 hours/week | 7.25 hours/day

Job Description

The Government of Alberta is seeking a Senior Test Analyst to support the Consumer Licensing Enquiry Online (CLEO) initiative. The resource will be responsible for UAT, functional and regression testing, defect management, integration and data validation, business readiness, training development, deployment readiness, go-live support, and post-implementation stabilization.

The successful candidate will work closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, SMEs, business users, and technical teams to validate requirements, ServiceNow stories, acceptance criteria, system functionality, and business outcomes.

The role also emphasizes the responsible use of approved AI and Generative AI tools to improve test coverage, documentation, defect analysis, training materials, knowledge transfer, and business readiness while maintaining human review and Government of Alberta privacy, security, accessibility, governance, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, update, and execute test scenarios, test scripts, and test cases aligned with business requirements and ServiceNow stories.
  • Perform UAT, functional, enhancement, regression, integration, end-to-end, smoke, and deployment validation testing.
  • Identify, document, track, and validate defects, including severity assessment, evidence, root-cause analysis support, and retesting.
  • Maintain test documentation, execution records, traceability matrices, and testing status reports.
  • Support data migration validation, data validation, integration testing, and business process validation.
  • Participate in sprint and release testing, defect triage, deployment validation, and post-deployment verification.
  • Monitor and communicate testing risks, issues, dependencies, constraints, and blockers.
  • Develop user guides, quick reference guides, job aids, training presentations, process documentation, knowledge articles, FAQs, and training scenarios.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, SMEs, and business stakeholders to ensure training materials accurately reflect approved processes and system functionality.
  • Support and facilitate training sessions, user walkthroughs, demonstrations, and knowledge-transfer sessions.
  • Support business readiness, deployment readiness, operational transition, go-live, and post-implementation stabilization.
  • Identify opportunities to use approved AI/Generative AI tools for testing, documentation, defect analysis, training, and knowledge management.
  • Review and validate all AI-generated content for accuracy, completeness, accessibility, relevance, and compliance.


Requirements

Mandatory Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field such as Information Technology.
  • 5+ years coordinating testing activities with business users, Business Analysts, technical teams, and other stakeholders.
  • 5+ years developing end-user training materials.
  • 5+ years identifying, documenting, tracking, and validating defects through the testing lifecycle.
  • 5+ years of software testing methodologies, including UAT and related testing practices.
  • 5+ years supporting data validation, integration testing, and end-to-end testing.
  • 5+ years working in Agile or iterative delivery environments.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

Certifications:

  • Active Certified ScrumMaster (CSM).
  • Agile certification.
  • ISTQB, QAI, or other professional Test Management certification.
  • Prosci Change Management certification/designation.
  • SAFe 6 Practice Consultant certification.

Additional Experience:

  • 5+ years designing role-based training programs and learning plans.
  • 1+ year developing and delivering training materials related to data/system processes.
  • 5+ years supporting, delivering, and/or facilitating end-user training sessions.
  • 5+ years supporting business readiness and/or deployment readiness.
  • 2+ years supporting licensing, regulatory, permitting, or citizen-facing applications/processes.
  • 2+ years working with ServiceNow applications, workflows, stories, and related functionality.
