Description

As a Test and QA Junior Specialist in Yettel’s QA team, you will help ensure the quality of our TV service across Smart TVs, set-top boxes, mobile devices and web browsers.

Your role will focus on manual testing of TV applications, identifying and reporting defects, and verifying that users have a reliable and consistent viewing experience across supported platforms. You will collaborate with developers, solution architects, business analysts and other QA colleagues, while gradually developing your skills in test automation.

What we will expect from you:

  • Execute functional, regression and exploratory tests across TV, mobile and web applications.
  • Test key features such as login, live TV, channel switching, the electronic programme guide (EPG), catch-up TV, video on demand, search and parental controls.
  • Verify video and audio playback, playback controls and application behaviour under different network conditions.
  • Check application compatibility across supported devices, operating systems, screen sizes and application versions.
  • Test navigation and usability using remote controls, touchscreens and web browsers.
  • Create and maintain test cases based on requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Document defects clearly, including steps to reproduce, device details, application versions and relevant screenshots, videos or logs.
  • Track reported defects, verify fixes and communicate testing progress and results.
  • Prepare and maintain test data and support the readiness of test devices and application configurations.
  • Participate in project test phases and release validation.
  • Use tools such as Jira, Confluence and TestRail.

For a good start, you will need:

  • A university degree, or to be in the final year of studies, preferably in IT, telecommunications or a related field.
  • A basic understanding of software testing principles, test cases, defect reporting and the software development lifecycle.
  • An interest in TV services, streaming technologies and testing applications across different devices.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to describe issues clearly and accurately.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication skills and a collaborative approach.
  • The ability to organize tasks and work methodically.
  • Good written and spoken English.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.

It would be a plus if you have:

  • Familiarity with Smart TV platforms, Android TV/Google TV, set-top boxes, Android or iOS applications.
  • A basic understanding of streaming concepts, buffering and the impact of network connectivity on playback.
  • Experience from university or personal projects involving software testing.
  • Basic knowledge of APIs, application logs or test automation tools.

Why we think you should apply:

  • Hybrid working, with on-site testing when access to physical devices is required.
  • 25 days of annual leave.
  • Health package.
  • A mobile phone with unlimited internet and a Family Yettel tariff package.
  • Recreation or health programme.
  • In-house training and development programmes.
  • Career development opportunities.
