Test Automation Engineer (w/ JavaScript OR TypeScript)
Summary
Test Automation Engineer (6-month contract, full onsite) at Rising Tide Digital in BGC, Taguig, owning production-grade automated test solutions in JavaScript or TypeScript using tools like Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, and Appium, testing REST APIs and wiring tests into CI/CD. Salary is ₱80,000–₱120,000 per month.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
At least 3 years of working experience in in software development, quality engineering, or test automation, including ownership of production-grade automated test solutions.
Strong programming skills in JavaScript or TypeScript
Experience with an additional language such as Java, C#, or Python is preferred.
Experience designing or extending test automation frameworks using tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium WebDriver, Appium, or equivalent technologies.
Experience testing REST APIs and distributed integrations, including authentication, data validation, error handling, and service contracts.
Proficiency in writing and troubleshooting SQL queries in Oracle and/or Microsoft SQL Server.
Experience integrating automated tests with source control, build systems, and CI/CD pipelines.
Working knowledge of software design, object-oriented or modular programming, data structures, debugging, and code-review practices.
Strong understanding of Agile delivery, the software development lifecycle, test levels, risk based testing, and defect-prevention practices.
Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical risks and influence quality decisions across teams.
Additional Qualifications
Fintech & Cloud Architecture: Experience in financial services, fintech or consumer banking experience including compliance/security regulations, cloud platforms, microservices, and observability tools.
Advanced Testing & Tooling: Hands-on experience in performance, security, and resilience testing, along with the judgment to choose between code-based and low-code/no-code tools.

Engineering Mindset: Strong coding, debugging, and systems-thinking skills to build maintainable test infrastructure instead of relying on manual validation.
Risk & Strategy Management: Ability to balance test depth, execution speed, and business risk while communicating defects and technical tradeoffs clearly.
