Test Automation Lead - TOSCA

The Test Automation Architect is entrusted with leading the strategic design, development, and implementation of enterprise-grade test automation solutions using different test automations tools like UFT, Tosca, Playwright, Selenium, Robot Framework, and others. This role mandates the creation of scalable automation frameworks, the establishment of best practices, and the enablement of cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software efficiently. The architect will serve as the technical authority on automation, driving innovation, continuous improvement, and alignment with organizational goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:



  1. Design and implement robust, scalable, and maintainable test automation frameworks using different automation tools like UFT, Tosca, Playwright, Selenium, Robot Framework, and others
  2. Define automation architecture and best practices across multiple projects and teams
  3. Provide oversight and governance for automation initiatives across projects under ITG, ensuring alignment with testing standards and objectives
  4. Collaborate with QA, development, and DevOps teams to integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Azure DevOps, GitLab, GitLab Runner, and Jenkins
  5. Lead the creation of reusable test assets and libraries to accelerate automation efforts
  6. Estimate automation effort and assess feasibility of automation candidates based on complexity, reusability, and business value
  7. Ensure comprehensive documentation of automation frameworks, test cases, and processes
  8. Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to automation standards and guidelines
  9. Analyze test results, identify root causes of failures, and drive continuous improvement
  10. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to automation engineers and QA analysts
  11. Conduct onboarding and training sessions for new team members to build proficiency in automation and automation practices
  12. Stay updated with the latest features and innovations in automation, including AI-driven capabilities and enhancements
  13. Integrate and manage test cases and execution results using test management tools such as OpenText ALM, Xray, Azure DevOps, and qTest
  14. Develop and maintain automation dashboards and reports to provide visibility into test coverage, execution status, and defect trends
  15. Ensure alignment with organizational testing standards and contribute to automation governance by defining and enforcing best practices, compliance requirements, and quality benchmarks

Minimum Qualifications :



  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in software testing and 5+ years in test automation.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience with UFT, Tosca, Playwright, Selenium, Robot Framework, or others automation tools
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing enterprise-level automation frameworks.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitLab).
  • Experience with test management tools such as OpenText ALM, Xray, and Azure DevOps.
  • Exposure to API testing, performance testing, and mobile automation is a plus.

  2. Test case design techniques and risk-based testing.
  3. Continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
  4. Test data management and test environment configuration.
  5. Agile and DevOps methodologies.
  6. Quality metrics and reporting.
  7. AI-enhanced testing tools.

Integration of test automation with enterprise tools and platforms

Skills :


  • Expert-level proficiency in automation and has in depth understanding of automation framework structures using page object model
  • Hands on experience with different automation frameworks using behavior-driver, Keyword-driven, data-driven, and hybrid models
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and QA methodologies
  • Familiarity with version control systems such as GitLab and GitHub, and CI/CD runners like GitLab Runner and Jenkins
  • Experience with defect tracking tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, qTest, and OpenText ALM
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively across teams
