Kett Engineering is accepting application and pre-qualifying candidates to be test drivers/Technical Specialist on both the 1st & 2nd shift. Successful candidates will be up-to-date on the workings of the in-cab technology that comes in new, high-end vehicles. This program is working with our customer, a prestigious German automobile manufacturer, in an automotive testing / research and development program in Carson, CA.

We are seeking reliable, technically savvy people with a general knowledge of how automobiles work who are proficient at driving a manual transmission vehicle.

Job Summary and General Purpose of Position:

The Test Driver follows the direction of Lead Driver and/or Project Coordinator, performs various driving services on vehicles per shift according to customers specifications. and represents Kett in a professional manner.

Starting pay is $18.00 hourly

Schedule: Monday - Friday.

1st shift: 6:00 am to 2:30 pm

2nd shift: 3:30 pm to 12:00 am

Required to work the 1st week of training on the 1st shift

Essential Functions:

  • Demonstrate ability to drive all schedules certified on, with complete schedule integrity and does so on a consistent basis
  • Test vehicle infotainment systems
  • Prepare accurate driver reports and other records on a daily basis, document observations in a clear and concise manner
  • Perform related driving/vehicle prep work as assigned. I.e. tire changes, etc.
  • Assist with training of drivers
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management
