Test Engineer
About the role
We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Test Engineer to join A7 Recruitment Corporation in Pasig City, Metro Manila. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products and systems. As a Test Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing comprehensive testing strategies to identify defects, validate functionality, and ensure that our solutions meet the highest standards of quality before release to clients. Your work will directly impact the success of our products and the satisfaction of our users.
Key responsibilities
Design and develop test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on software requirements and specifications
Execute manual and automated testing across various platforms, devices, and environments to identify bugs and performance issues
Perform functional, regression, integration, system, and user acceptance testing to ensure software quality
Document defects and issues in a clear and detailed manner, including steps to reproduce, expected results, and actual results
Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and clarify testing scope
Develop and maintain automated test scripts using industry-standard testing tools and frameworks
Conduct root cause analysis on identified defects and work with development teams to resolve issues
Participate in test environment setup and configuration to support testing activities
Generate comprehensive test reports and metrics to track testing progress and quality assurance status
Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
1-5 years of experience in software testing, quality assurance, or a related role
Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, including black-box testing, white-box testing, and exploratory testing
Experience with test management and bug tracking tools (such as JIRA, TestRail, or HP ALM)
Sound understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and quality assurance processes
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail
Strong communication and documentation abilities to effectively convey testing results and recommendations
Experience with API testing and web service testing
Familiarity with performance and load testing tools is preferred
Knowledge of mobile application testing across iOS and Android platforms is advantageous
Experience in agile development environments is beneficial
Experience with test automation tools and frameworks (such as Selenium, TestNG, JUnit, or similar) is preferred
