Test Engineer

Responsibilities:

Functional & Manual Testing

  • Perform functional, regression, integration, end-to-end, and UAT support for web-based and integrated systems.

  • Execute manual test cases based on project requirements and specifications; validate system functionalities, workflows, interfaces, and business processes.

  • Verify defect fixes and conduct re-testing activities.

  • Develop, review, and maintain test plans, scenarios, cases, scripts, and reports.

  • Ensure documentation is complete, organized, traceable to requirements, and support test evidence collection for audit and governance purposes.

  • Log, track, and manage defects using project tracking tools.

  • Work closely with developers and technical teams to troubleshoot issues, follow up on outstanding defects, ensure timely closure, and support defect triage and prioritization.

  • Support automation testing activities where applicable; exposure to Playwright, test automation concepts/frameworks, automated test execution and reporting will be advantageous.

  • Perform basic API testing using Postman, Swagger, or REST API tools, including validation of API request/response data, JSON, and integration behaviour.

  • Coordinate with Project Managers, Developers, System Engineers, and Business Users during testing activities.

  • Support SIT, UAT, deployment verification, production validation, project implementation, and operational readiness activities.

  • Communicate testing progress, issues, and risks clearly to stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related disciplines.

  • 1–2 years of relevant experience in software testing or quality assurance will be advantageous. Candidates with internship or project experience in testing are welcome to apply.

  • Experience in manual, functional, regression, integration testing, and SIT/UAT support.

  • Strong understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and experience writing detailed, structured test cases.

  • Basic knowledge or experience in API testing, RESTful APIs, Postman/equivalent tools, and JSON request/response validation.

  • Familiarity with Jira, Azure DevOps, HP ALM, TestRail, and Confluence.

  • Exposure to automation testing, Playwright, and DevOps or CI/CD testing environments is advantageous but not mandatory.

  • Experience in enterprise, government, large-scale, or mission-critical projects, with supervisory/team coordination or customer-facing/stakeholder engagement experience, will be an added advantage.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail and quality, and good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment, under pressure, and meet project timelines.

  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.

  • Willingness to work in a collaborative project environment involving multiple technical and business teams, with exposure to enterprise-scale and mission-critical systems, including SIT, UAT, deployment, and operational support activities.
