Test Engineer
Summary
Design and execute tests for trading workflows, market data, and exchange systems, using SQL, FIX protocols, and automation tools in a financial exchange environment.
You will analyze requirements, design and execute testing, validate trading workflows and market data processing, manage test data and environments, investigate defects, report quality metrics, support release readiness, and improve regression coverage.
Responsibilities
- Analyze business, functional, and technical requirements
- Design, review, and execute test cases, scenarios, and suites
- Perform functional, system integration, end-to-end, regression, parallel, operational readiness, and production verification testing
- Validate trading workflows, order management, and market data processing
- Prepare and manage test data and environment dependencies
- Identify, investigate, document, and track defects
- Provide test execution reporting, quality metrics, and release evidence
- Collaborate with Automation Engineers to improve regression coverage
- Participate in risk assessments, test planning, estimations, and release readiness reviews
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
- Learn and use vendor-provided automation tools
- Use approved AI tools in test engineering
Requirements
- 5-8 years of software testing experience in medium to large technology environments
- Experience with functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing
- Experience with Cloud Jira, Confluence, and defect lifecycle management
- Knowledge of test planning, estimation, execution, and reporting
- Ability to analyze requirements and identify test conditions and risks
- Stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Experience with Agile, DevOps, and waterfall delivery models
- Experience testing FIX or API protocols using Postman or SoapUI
- Experience using SQL and reconciling large data sets
- Understanding of Linux and Java
- Experience in financial markets, exchanges, or trading platforms
- Knowledge of FIX, ITCH, OUCH, or related market protocols
- Exposure to test automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines
- Performance, resilience, or operational readiness testing experience
- Knowledge of Kafka and AVRO messages
- Experience testing data platforms and integrations
- Experience using AI in test engineering
