Job Title: Test Engineer

Department: Test Engineering

Reports to: Director of Test Engineering

Hours: 8:30 – 5:30, M-F, flexible

Duties and Responsibilities: (subject to change)

  • Participate in software and hardware testing devices intended for medical markets.
  • Establish and maintain procedures for product testing.
  • Manage extensive test projects for new and existing products.
  • Lead other engineers and/or co-ops in testing efforts.
  • Manage equipment allocated for testing.
  • Assist in developing production test procedures and tools.
  • Design test plans for new products or new functionality in existing products.
  • Write test scripts or other test software to automate tests when appropriate.
  • Modify products as needed in order to gain more extensive test coverage.
  • Participate in electrical and mechanical testing efforts.
  • Participate in media testing.
  • Participate in OEM interface testing.
  • Any and other duties as assigned

Required Skills:

  • Excellent problem solving skills. Must be able to understand and isolate faults in complex systems
  • Familiarity and experience with electro-mechanical systems
  • Strong understanding of software systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly with other engineers
  • Strong organizational skills. Must be able to manage and organize large amounts of data
  • Must work well in a group environment

Optional Skills:

  • Experience with modern software technologies such as C, C++, Java, Perl, Python, shell scripting, Unix, Linux, and Windows
  • Knowledge of applicable FDA regulations
  • Familiarity with the concepts of HALT and HASS testing
  • Electrical, mechanical, or software design experience
  • Familiarity with published test standards
  • Experience in shock/vibration testing

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Minimum of two years working in an engineering or technical environment.
