We are seeking a Mid-Level Manual Tester to support the delivery of high-quality software solutions for our federal clients. This role plays a critical part in ensuring applications meet business requirements, performance expectations, and quality standards before release.
You will work closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Developers, and stakeholders to identify defects early, validate functionality, and ensure reliable user experiences across multiple platforms and environments.
This role blends quality assurance expertise with analytical problem-solving. You will:
- Review business requirements, user stories, and functional specifications to understand system behavior and acceptance criteria.
- Design, document, and execute detailed test cases, test scenarios, and test plans.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, smoke, and user acceptance testing.
- Identify, document, track, and verify software defects using Jira or similar defect management tools.
- Collaborate with developers and business stakeholders to reproduce and resolve issues.
- Execute database and data validation testing using SQL queries where applicable.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily standups, and retrospectives.
- Maintain comprehensive testing documentation, defect logs, and quality metrics.
- Support release validation and post-deployment verification activities.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on business and technical requirements.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, smoke, and user acceptance testing.
- Document, prioritize, and track defects through resolution.
- Validate application functionality, data accuracy, and system integrations.
- Collaborate with developers, analysts, and product teams to clarify requirements and resolve issues.
- Participate actively in Agile development processes.
- Support release testing and production validation activities.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes, standards, and documentation.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in software quality assurance and manual testing.
- Experience testing web-based applications and enterprise software solutions.
- Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
- Experience creating and executing test cases, test scenarios, and test plans.
- Hands-on experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar defect management tools.
- Ability to analyze requirements and identify testing gaps and risks.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-starter with excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SQL and database validation testing.
- Familiarity with data integration.
- Experience working within Agile/Scrum teams.
- Experience supporting cloud-based applications and services.
