Test Engineer (Gboard and Android)
Summary
A Test Engineer at ITMAGINATION (Kraków) works on Gboard and Android device testing across Chromebooks, smartphones, and tablets, building and running manual and automated tests to validate client-server interactions in the ChromeOS and Android ecosystems. Core work spans test automation frameworks, debugging via system logs and network traffic, and end-to-end test scenarios.
- Develop and implement comprehensive test strategies for Gboard and Android features across Chromebooks, phones, and tablets.
- Design, execute, and maintain automated and manual test suites for Gboard, Android system features, and backend integration services.
- Architect end-to-end test scenarios to validate features from server-side configuration to client-side enforcement across multiple form factors.
- Drive test automation adoption across client and server domains.
- Debug and triage complex system issues using system logs, network traffic, and device performance metrics.
- Collaborate closely with Product Management and Engineering teams to ensure maximum test coverage and quality standards.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
Experience in software testing across client/server architectures and platform/device ecosystems.
Experience designing, building, and implementing automated testing frameworks.
Strong understanding of client-server architectures, APIs, and distributed systems.
Proficiency with industry-standard test automation tools, frameworks, and defect triage processes.
Hands-on experience testing and operating physical devices (Chromebooks, smartphones, tablets) and diagnosing issues via system logs.
Communicative English
Preferred Qualifications:
Deep experience with ChromeOS and Android OS architectures, build pipelines, and testing workflows.
Hands-on familiarity with Gboard, ChromeOS, and Android testing toolsets.
Experience testing enterprise management platforms, policy enforcement, and cloud-based services.
Knowledge of device enrollment flows and mobile device management (MDM) policies.
Prior experience with non-functional testing, including performance, security, and scalability evaluation.
