The Materials Testing Engineer II will independently perform hands-on testing in our Marietta, GA Super Lab. This position is responsible for planning and executing load, hydrostatic pressure, and lifecycle testing on a wide range of components, assemblies, and systems. The engineer will develop custom test methods, design and fabricate test-specific fixtures, integrate multiple data-acquisition and control systems, analyze results, and provide clear technical conclusions. The Engineer II will also support project planning, customer communication, troubleshooting, and the technical development of less-experienced team members.
Responsibilities:

Independently interpret requirements and develop testing and setup procedures, techniques, and specifications

Develop, modify, and troubleshoot custom test scripts and automated data-acquisition routines

Design, build, and validate custom test rigs and fixtures as needed

Follow, promote, and help improve laboratory safety procedures and safe work practices

Prepare and review work orders in accordance with the QAP and defined project requirements

Plan and execute test programs with limited supervision, adapting procedures when technically justified and approved

Analyze and evaluate test results, identify anomalies, and communicate technical findings effectively to customers and internal stakeholders

Generate accurate, complete technical reports and supporting documentation; peer-review work as assigned

Coordinate project resources, procure laboratory supplies with appropriate approvals, and support equipment readiness and maintenance
