QA Engineer (Primary Manual Testing with Automation Knowledge)
Experience: 3-5 years
Job Description: We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and experienced QA Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in manual testing methodologies and a solid understanding of software quality assurance principles. While manual testing will be the primary focus, knowledge of automation testing tools like Playwright or Selenium and basic programming concepts in Java or Python will be highly valued for collaborative efforts and future growth.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and meticulously execute comprehensive manual test plans and test cases based on product requirements.
- Perform thorough functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing across various applications.
- Identify, document, and track software defects with clear, concise, and reproducible steps to resolution.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (developers, product managers, business analysts) to understand features, clarify requirements, and ensure robust test coverage.
- Conduct extensive regression testing to ensure application stability and prevent the introduction of new defects.
- Participate in requirement reviews, providing feedback on testability and usability from a manual testing perspective.
- Create and maintain detailed test documentation, including test cases, test reports, and defect logs.
- Ensure compliance with industry best practices and testing standards for high-quality software delivery.
- Possess a foundational understanding of automated testing concepts and be able to analyse automation reports.
- Provide guidance on manual testing methodologies and best practices to junior team members.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of extensive experience in software testing, with a strong emphasis on manual testing.
- Demonstrable expertise in designing and executing complex manual test cases for web/cloud native applications.
- Familiarity with automation testing concepts and frameworks such as Playwright or Selenium is a plus.
- Basic understanding of programming languages like Java or Python for script analysis and collaboration.
- Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate issues clearly.
- Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes is beneficial.
Technical Skills:
- Manual Testing: Expertise in designing and executing detailed manual test cases across various testing types (functional, system, regression, UAT).
- Test Case Design: Advanced ability to create highly effective, clear, and comprehensive test cases.
- Regression Testing: Proven experience in conducting thorough and efficient regression tests.
- Bug Tracking Tools: Proficiency in using tools like Azure DevOps for defect management.
- SDLC/Agile: Strong understanding of SDLC phases and practical experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
- API Testing: Hands-on experience with tools like Postman , Bruno for API testing is highly desirable.
