Job Title: Test Engineer
Position Summary
The Test Engineer is responsible for developing, executing, and maintaining test processes to ensure products meet design specifications, performance standards, and customer requirements. This role involves designing test setups, automating test procedures, analyzing data, and collaborating closely with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure product reliability and quality throughout its lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement test plans, test cases, and procedures based on technical specifications and product requirements.
- Develop automated and manual test setups using appropriate hardware and software tools.
- Transition product from design to manufacturing, communicating and verifying the different requirements, propose and align on test plans.
- Conduct functional, performance, environmental, and reliability testing of products or systems.
- Partner with design engineer and facilitate supplier engineer in product development with a strong focus on design for manufacturing, assembly, and service
- Perform statistical analysis, gauge R&R and correlation study to optimize test outcomes
- Troubleshoot test failures and collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify root causes and corrective actions.
- Continuously review and optimize test methods for accuracy, repeatability, and efficiency.
- Support the development of automated test frameworks to improve throughput and consistency.
- Record and maintain detailed test data, results, and test configurations.
- Generate technical reports summarizing test results and recommendations.
- Work closely with design, manufacturing, and QA teams to ensure products are designed for testability.
- Provide feedback on design improvements based on test outcomes.
- Ensure all test activities comply with internal standards, safety procedures, and relevant industry certifications (e.g., ISO, IEC, or MIL-STD).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechanical, Computer, or related engineering field.
- 2–5 years of experience in product testing, validation, or quality assurance
- Proficiency in problem solving techniques related to flow control and manufacturing process
- Proficiency in using test, measurement and data collection instruments.
- Experience with test automation and scripting languages (Python, LabVIEW, C/C++, MATLAB, etc.).
- Understanding of electronic systems, embedded hardware, or software testing.
- Familiarity with data analysis and statistical methods for process improvement.
- Experience and ability to adopt new sensor and metrology system to enhance in house test capability
- Experience/knowledge of fluidic related testing (setup and usage of gas delivery systems, flow controllers, regulators, pressure transducers, etc) is preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
This position may require 10-20% travel for supplier audits and/or onsite support
