Test Engineer Technician
Summary
Maintains and troubleshoots test equipment and software for manufacturing, performs calibration, and assists with test plans and fixture assembly.
Position Summary: The Test Engineering Technician maintains and troubleshoots existing test equipment, software, and procedures for high volume production and testing of industrial and consumer goods. They assist with operation, maintenance, validation, troubleshooting, and repair of test equipment and software.
Essential Responsibilities:
Maintain, support, and document the processes, tools, and procedures used for testing in manufacturing. Assist with the execution of test plans on products, manufacturing methods, and equipment. Assist with test fixture assembly and troubleshoot components and circuitry to suggest and implement solutions. Perform operations that involve interpreting schematic drawings, performing specified tests, complex troubleshooting and repairing a variety of electronic devices. Oversee and maintain the calibration of hardware and supply of spare parts for test equipment. Collaborate cross-functionally with design, engineering, process, quality, and/or production teams to optimize manufacturing quality and efficiency.
Requirements:
Education: 2-year Associate Degree in electronic technology or related field or equivalent military training
Related Experience: 3+ years of technician experience preferred
Soft Skills: Time management, self-starter, ability to multi-task, excellent verbal/written communication
Special Skills: soldering/de-soldering, advanced computer skills, some programming proficiency (LabVIEW preferred), use of electronic test equipment, following test procedures, and test automation.
