Test Engineer

Discussion

Summary

A hands-on Test Engineer who sets up, automates, and executes functional and parametric IC validation tests in the hardware lab, using Python or MATLAB for instrument control and data analysis, and coordinates with external test houses. Core focus: test bench assembly/debug, measurement data analysis, and clear reporting for the design team.

To support our client’s IC validation roadmap, we are looking for a hands-on and pragmatic Test Engineer. In this assignment, you will take ownership of setting up, automating, and executing functional and parametric tests in the laboratory. You will bridge the gap between design expectations and real-world silicon performance, collaborating closely with internal technical teams and external test service providers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Test Bench Setup & Debug: Assemble, verify, and debug the complete test setup, including instruments, power supplies, custom PCBs, fixtures, cabling, and automated data acquisition.
  • Execution & Data Analysis: Perform functional and parametric testing according to the validation plan. Analyze measurement data, isolate discrepancies, and correlate hardware results with design predictions.
  • Reporting & Insights: Deliver clear, concise test reports featuring structured plots, observations, explicit pass/fail criteria, and actionable recommendations for the design team.
  • Test House Coordination: Act as the technical point of contact for external test houses—managing setup requirements, implementation logistics, data exchange, issue tracking, and schedule alignment.

Profile & Technical Skills

  • Hands-on Lab Mindset: Highly comfortable spending the majority of your time in the hardware lab, working directly with ICs, electronic systems, and measurement setups.
  • Automation: Mandatory experience with Python, MATLAB, or equivalent environments for instrument control and data processing.
  • Hardware Expertise: Proven track record in electronic system/IC characterization and PCB debugging. Experience with PMICs and voltage regulators is a strong asset.
  • Analytical & Autonomous: Accurate in data reporting, structured in issue tracking, and able to drive progress independently.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate seamlessly within an international team and manage external technical vendors.
