Test Hardware Engineer (測試設備工程師) - Operations

Our Team:

Semtech’s Operations Test Engineering team enables high-volume manufacturing of our Signal Integrity products across a global network of OSAT partners. Based in Taiwan, the team owns wafer-sort and final-test operations— release of test programs, hardware, qualification, and yield—working hand-in-hand with global Business Unit engineering and OSAT partners to ramp up new products and sustain production on schedule, at cost, and at quality. You will join a hands-on, technically deep team that operates at the center of our manufacturing supply chain.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Test Hardware Engineer to own the maintenance, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management of test hardware—including probe cards and membrane core assemblies—used in wafer sort and final test across our OSAT partners in Asia. This role is dedicated in test hardware maintenance – specifically on membrane core and probing issues on complex products, and will standardize test hardware processes and procedures across all Semtech test locations in Asia, not just Taiwan. The Test Hardware Engineer partners closely with OSAT partners, global Business Unit (BU) engineering, and the broader test engineering team to ensure test hardware readiness, reliability, and consistency in support of increasingly complex products, including those for the Data Center business.

Responsibilities:

• Test Hardware & Membrane Core Maintenance: Own the maintenance, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management of test hardware, including probe cards and membrane core assemblies, used in wafer sort across OSAT partners; diagnose and resolve membrane core and probing-related issues to minimize downtime and yield impact (30%).
• Test Hardware Deployment & Qualification: Support bring-up and qualification of new test hardware and fixtures for wafer sort and final test, partnering with OSATs and BU engineering to ensure hardware readiness for NPI and production ramp of increasingly complex products (20%).
• Process & Procedure Standardization: Develop and standardize test hardware maintenance procedures, work instructions, and best practices, and drive consistent adoption across all Semtech test locations (15%).
• Hardware Issue Resolution & Root Cause Analysis: Serve as the on-site technical resource for test hardware-related excursions and failures; lead root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions in partnership with OSAT and BU engineering teams (15%).
• Spares, Inventory & Supplier Coordination: Manage test hardware spares inventory and repair/calibration cycles, and coordinate with hardware suppliers and OSATs to ensure availability and reliability of critical test tooling (10%).
• Documentation & Knowledge Transfer: Build and maintain documentation, training materials, and knowledge-sharing resources to close test hardware expertise gaps and build capability within the Asia test engineering team (10%).
