Test Lead - Mortgage testing

Only immediate joiners are needed. We can interview on same day and close the role for hiring within this month.

Must have mortgage industry experience and strong manual testing with mainframe testing good to have skill.

Budget - 500 AUD / day inclusive of all, for 3 months contract

Position Summary:
We are seeking a hands-on Senior Functional Quality Engineer with extensive experience in the mortgage industry, including strong expertise in API testing. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in functional and API testing, excellent stakeholder management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with senior business and technical teams. This role requires a proactive approach to quality assurance and a deep understanding of banking or mortgage business processes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and execute functional and API testing activities for mortgage applications ensuring high-quality deliverables.
• Design, develop, and maintain API test cases and scripts using Postman to validate backend services and integrations.
• Develop, review, and maintain detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts aligned with business and technical requirements.
• Collaborate closely with business analysts, product owners, developers, and integration teams to understand requirements and provide testing insights.
• Manage and communicate testing progress, risks, and issues to senior stakeholders and business teams.
• Mentor and guide junior quality engineers and testers.
• Facilitate defect triage meetings and ensure timely resolution of issues.
• Drive continuous improvement of testing processes and methodologies.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal quality standards relevant to the banking or mortgage sector.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups.
• Support UAT (User Acceptance Testing) phases and coordinate with business users.
