POSITION SUMMARY: The Test Line Technician – Pump Integrations is responsible for supporting the installation, alignment, testing, and troubleshooting of pump systems and related mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components. This role performs a wide range of hands on activities—from basic setup and inspection to advanced system level testing and diagnostics—ensuring equipment meets performance, safety, and quality standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (The following duties and responsibilities are all essential job functions, as defined by the ADA, except for those that begin with the word "may")
- Assist with installing pumps, motors, valves, and related components.
- Perform pump and motor alignments using hand tools, dial indicators, or laser alignment systems (based on skill level).
- Support test setup by routing hoses, installing gauges, preparing instrumentation, and verifying connections.
- Conduct leak checks, basic inspections, and connection verifications.
- Set up and execute pump testing, including pressure, flow, temperature, and vibration checks.
- Perform full pump system testing such as flow curves, NPSH validation, vibration trending, and performance verification (senior level tasks).
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, instrumentation, and alignment issues of varying complexity.
- Assist with or perform VFD setup, instrumentation wiring, and control panel checks.
- Read and interpret P&IDs, mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and hydraulic schematics with appropriate supervision depending on experience.
- Document inspection data, test results, abnormalities, and corrective actions.
- Lead high complexity or customer witness test setups (advanced level responsibility).
- Provide recommendations for test process improvements or design enhancements.
- Train and mentor Operators and lower level Technicians as needed.
- Support failure analysis and assist Engineering and Quality teams with root cause investigations.
- Follow LOTO procedures, rotating equipment safety practices, and all relevant safety protocols.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support operational success and business continuity.
