- Maintain schedule of product due dates and assign work to team to ensure deadlines are met.
- Own lab staffing and headcount planning, including hiring, cross-training, coaching, and performance management.
- Build a lab culture of safety, ESD discipline, accurate documentation, and continuous improvement.
Test Strategy
- Define the test strategy for new products, selecting the right mix of in-circuit, flying probe, and functional test to balance coverage, cycle time, and cost.
- Review customer designs for testability (DFT), recommend test point and access improvements, and report expected test coverage before production launch.
- Oversee development, debug, and release of test programs and fixtures, whether built in-house or sourced through outside fixture vendors.
- Serve as a primary technical contact for customers on test requirements, test procedures, and coverage reports.
Test Operations, Yield & Failure Analysis
- Ensure test capacity keeps pace with the production schedule and resolve bottlenecks that put customer shipments at risk.
- Track and report first-pass yield, retest rates, false failures, and throughput, and drive measurable improvement through data-driven root cause analysis.
- Lead failure analysis on test failures, returns (RMAs), and customer complaints, and present findings and corrective actions to customers and internal leadership.
- Partner with Quality, Process Engineering, and Production to feed test data back into the assembly process and prevent defects at the source.
Compliance
