POSITION SUMMARY

  • This position will work as a thermal design engineer in infrastructure solutions design for mechanical HVAC design of integrated modular solutions, reporting to and supporting the lead engineer on the project until a valid HVAC technical solution is achieved. The role is responsible for preparing documentation such as single-line diagrams, cooling load calculations, mechanical equipment modeling in Revit, and basic calculations. The thermal engineer must have knowledge of relevant international standards (North American, European, Indian, OR Australian/NZ region) and a basic understanding of international and other standards related to overall HVAC design.
  • Be responsible for mechanical HVAC design on a dedicated (small/medium) project and coordinate HVAC mechanical installations with other disciplines
  • Well versed with details of cooling equipment functions (Liebert) and incorporates cooling equipment in projects. Learn and understand the equipment's details and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Piping design, chiller design, precision cooling units, etc...

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop project concepts and detailed designs
• Create mechanical design documentation based on input data (information, requirements, standards): thermal load, ventilation, layouts, detailed drawings, descriptions, schedules, instructions, material submissions, presentations, marketing materials, etc.
• Follow and consider international, national, and company standards and good engineering practices during design
• Use knowledge and experience to meet project task requirements
• Participate in kick-off meetings, regular project team meetings, and site coordination meetings
• Report project status to the lead project engineer
• Proactively collaborate with all team members during project execution
• Initiate Requests for Information (RFI) when further clarification is needed
• Prepare defined documents according to the document list (DLIST)
• Review and approve workshop documentation prepared by subcontractors
• Define descriptions of materials and services required for project execution
• Specify required certificates for materials to be ordered

Based on the project and priorities, he needs to align with the North America, India, EMEA, or ANZ region timeline.

• Support suppliers with additional information during the bid submission phase
• Provide technical approval for received supplier bids
• Provide technical support to subcontractors and installers during production/installation
• Collaborate with the manufacturing team and on-site implementation team
• Work with the site manager during installation, providing technical solutions to raised issues.
• Cooperate with quality control during component/system quality checks and site installation
• Collaborate with the commissioning engineer in preparing test documentation
• Participate in internal testing and FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing)

AUTHORITIES
• Review and approve external mechanical design documentation with support from the lead thermal engineer
• Approve/reject technically received supplier bids with support from the lead thermal engineer
• Approve/reject proposed changes by subcontractors to approved workshop documentation with support from the lead thermal engineer

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferably in Thermodynamics)
  • 3-5 years of experience
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written)
  • Software:
    • Required: Revit, AutoCAD, MS Office
    • Preferred: MagiCAD, Linear
