Tibco Architect with Azure Exp.

Discussion

Description

We are looking for a Senior Integration Architect with 10+ years of experience to lead the migration of enterprise integration workflows from TIBCO BusinessWorks 5.x to Azure Integration Services (AIS). This is a hands-on architecture role — you will work directly with the Microsoft team, define the target-state integration architecture, select the right AIS components for each workload, and build production-grade solutions yourself. We need someone who leads by doing, not just advising.

Key Responsibilities
Architect the end-to-end target-state integration platform on Azure Integration Services — Logic Apps, Azure Service Bus, API Management, Azure Functions, and Event Grid
Lead the migration of existing TIBCO BW 5.x workflows — assess each integration, define the migration pattern (lift-and-shift, re-platform, or re-architect), and execute the cutover
Partner directly with the Microsoft technical team on architecture reviews, design decisions, and issue resolution — be the go-to technical voice on the client side
Define integration standards, naming conventions, error-handling patterns, retry policies, and monitoring strategy for the new AIS estate
Build and deploy integration solutions hands-on — write Logic Apps workflows, configure Service Bus topics/subscriptions, set up APIM policies, and develop Azure Functions where custom logic is needed
Design connectivity patterns for on-premises, hybrid, and cloud-to-cloud scenarios using VNet integration, on-premises data gateways, and private endpoints
Establish CI/CD pipelines for AIS artifacts using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions
Create architecture decision records, migration runbooks, and technical documentation
Mentor and guide a team of integration developers through migration and steady-state phases

Required Qualifications
10+ years in enterprise integration architecture and development
5+ years hands-on with Azure Integration Services — Logic Apps (Standard and Consumption), Service Bus, API Management, Azure Functions, Event Grid
Proven track record of leading at least one end-to-end migration from TIBCO BW 5.x/6.x to AIS or a comparable cloud-native integration platform
Deep understanding of TIBCO BW 5.x architecture — process definitions, shared variables, JMS/HTTP/SOAP adapters, JDBC connections, deployment descriptors — sufficient to re-map each workflow to AIS equivalents
Strong knowledge of Azure networking (VNets, Private Link, NSGs, on-premises data gateways) for hybrid integration
Experience with CI/CD for integration artifacts using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions, including IaC (ARM templates, Bicep, or Terraform)
Proficiency in RESTful API design, OpenAPI/Swagger, and API versioning strategies
Hands-on experience with message brokers, pub/sub patterns, and event-driven architectures
Strong communication skills — able to articulate and defend architecture decisions, push back constructively in reviews with Microsoft and client stakeholders
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field

Preferred Qualifications
Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure Integration Services–related certifications
Experience with MuleSoft, Dell Boomi, or webMethods in addition to TIBCO
Familiarity with healthcare/MedTech data standards (HL7, FHIR, EDI)
Experience with Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Log Analytics for integration observability
Exposure to SAP integration scenarios (SAP PI/PO, CPI, or RFC/BAPI connectors via Azure)
Prior experience in a client-facing consulting or services delivery model

Skills & Competencies
Integration Platforms: TIBCO BW 5.x/6.x, Azure Logic Apps, Service Bus, API Management, Azure Functions, Event Grid
Cloud & Infra: Azure VNets, Private Link, App Service Environments, on-premises data gateway, Key Vault
DevOps & IaC: Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, ARM, Bicep, Terraform
Protocols: REST, SOAP, JMS, AMQP, HTTP/S, FTP/SFTP, OpenAPI, OAuth 2.0
Data Formats: JSON, XML, EDI, CSV, Avro
Monitoring: Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Log Analytics
Soft Skills: Architectural storytelling, stakeholder management, cross-team collaboration, technical mentoring
