Summary
Supervises and executes tiling work, including preparing surfaces, cutting and installing tiles, and ensuring precise alignment and finish for walls and floors.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare tile beds using concrete, plaster, mastic, cement, glue, or mortar, applying tools such as screeds, brushes, and trowels to ensure a solid and level foundation.
- Align and level tiles using straightedges, spirit levels, and squares to ensure precise patterns and a clean finish.
- Cut and shape tiles accurately to fit around obstacles and into tight or irregular spaces, utilizing both hand and power tools.
- Cut, install, polish, and finish granite and marble surfaces, maintaining high precision during installation for long-lasting and professional results.
- Prepare surfaces for tiling by cleaning thoroughly and applying waterproofing materials or lath as required.
- Design and install decorative wall and floor mosaics in areas such as kitchens, bathrooms, and living rooms.
- Carefully tap tiles into place using appropriate tools to ensure proper adhesion while preventing breakage or damage.
- Read and follow blueprints accurately; measure and mark surfaces to determine the layout and approach for each tiling job.
