Tool Prep Utility

Job Summary

The Tool Prep Utility performs utility functions related to tool prep, cleaning, inventory, and record keeping tasks.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Operations

  • Crates, ships and documents pre-heat and contact heat tooling to our satellite facilities.
  • Transports tooling to and from production and tool prep., returns tooling to its proper storage area once tool prep. is completed.
  • Assists with tool prep, i.e., cavity cleaning, cleaning vent holes, etc.
  • Performs minor repairs on tools.
  • Lifts, moves, clamp, and bolts dies and fixtures on machines.
  • Assists with lifting and positioning work pieces; sorts, marks, or tags finished work.
  • Assists in removing work pieces and scrap from machines.
  • Files, grinds, or scrapes sharp edges, burrs, scales, or rust from work pieces.
  • Furnishes Operator with materials, tools, and supplies and cleans work areas, machines, tools, and equipment.
  • Must maintain regular and consistent attendance.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Safety

  • Comply with the EHS Policy and applicable regulatory and company EHS rules and requirements.
  • Prompt reporting of any unsafe conditions, practices, or environmental concerns to supervision. Resolving potential hazards swiftly, thereby ensuring a safe work environment for all employees.
  • Attend scheduled EHS trainings.
  • Actively assist the organization in achieving or surpassing EHS goals. Identify areas for improvement in EHS practices and recommend enhancements to contribute to our commitment to a safe work environment.
  • Demonstrates safe work habits by adhering to general safety procedures, including correct techniques for lifting and bending, maintaining proper ergonomics, using equipment correctly, and wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Ensures strict adherence to all safety procedures, including the enforcement of Lockout/Tagout (LO/TO) procedures.

Product Safety and Quality

  • Follows FDA GMP’s regarding food contact packaging as it pertains to the employee.
  • Practices good housekeeping including clutter-free work area and general cleaning.
  • Follows product safety standards, follows IPC product defense standards, and complies with all SQF requirements.
