What You'll Do

As a Torque & Test Operator, you'll perform torqueing, bolt tensioning, and hydrostatic pressure testing services that help ensure the integrity and reliability of equipment used in drilling, completions, and production operations.

Your day may include:

✅ Torqueing and tensioning wellheads, BOPs, valves, flowlines, and manifolds

✅ Performing hydrostatic pressure testing and verifying equipment integrity

✅ Reading and interpreting torque charts, hydro test charts, and customer specifications

✅ Tracking flange management activities, torque values, pressure results, and documentation

✅ Operating and maintaining hydraulic torque wrenches, torque packs, test pumps, hoses, and manifolds

✅ Troubleshooting equipment and performing minor repairs when needed

✅ Working directly with customers to verify specifications and ensure quality service

✅ Completing field tickets, work orders, and operational records accurately

• Follow pressure control, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and energy isolation procedures

Qualifications

Required

• Valid Chauffeur's License (Class A CDL preferred)
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
• Basic mechanical aptitude
• Basic math skills for calculations and documentation
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

Preferred Experience

• Torque and tensioning operations
• Flange management practices
• Hydraulic torque wrenches and pressure testing equipment
• Mechanical troubleshooting and repairs
• Electronic ticketing and tablet use

Physical & Work Environment

This is a hands-on field position that requires working in:

• Outdoor oilfield and industrial environments
• Weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, mud, wind, and dust
• High-noise areas requiring hearing protection
• Safety-sensitive environments around moving equipment and pressurized systems

Must be able to:

• Frequently lift up to 50 lbs and occasionally 75 lbs with assistance
• Stand, walk, climb, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods
• Work at heights and in confined spaces
• Wear required PPE, including FRCs, hard hats, gloves, steel-toe boots, eye protection, and hearing protection
