Global Trade Management roles lie either within the Trade Operations & Compliance or Export Controls area. Responsibilties include understanding the laws and regulations related to customs or export controls regulations globally. Advising the business units and overall organization on best practices and new opportunities to reduce risks and/or costs; ensuring that processes for customs or export control activities reduce risks and/or costs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Trade Operations and Compliance - Maintains a strong understanding of laws and regulations related to import/export in the assigned geography and is accountable for compliance in the assigned geography; provides technical expertise related to import/export laws and regulations.
  • Evaluates processes to identify opportunities to reduce risks and/or costs for import/export activities in the assigned geography and develops and implements process changes to capture such opportunities.
  • Advises the business to capture new opportunities and meet current needs in a compliant manner at minimal cost. Acts as a point of escalation for complex, non-routine problems; resolves complex problems.
  • Reviews and presents management reports on import/export activities.
  • Conducts training as needed on import/export topics. Maintains and expands strong relationships with appropriate governmental organizations in countries key to the organization’s operation and with brokers to ensure that the organization has appropriate supporting documentation and consistent compliance with import/export regulations.
  • Provides guidance and direction on problems and issues; delegates work assignments considering employee skills and development needs.
  • Export Controls -
  • Develop, maintain and execute a strong understanding of export control laws and regulations related to defense and dual-use products and registrations required to maintain compliance globally.
  • Communicates important changes to relevant laws and regulations; reviews license and registration applications and supporting data; prepares and reviews documentation needed to support compliance.
  • Reviews and monitors Export Control Number assignment and Restricted Party Screening programs for all business units; reviews and presents management reports regarding the programs.
  • Executes robust Global Trade Management Restricted Party Screening processes including training and roll out of manual screening within the business.
  • Accountable for compliance and provides technical expertise related to export control laws and regulations. Acts as a point of escalation for complex, non-routine problems; resolves complex problems.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

  • College, university, or equivalent degree or equivalent experience required.
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:

  • Significant (5+ years) relevant work experience, including supervisory experience, required.
