Job purpose

We are seeking an experienced, energetic Trade Sales & Marketing Manager to join our team in South East Queensland. This role combines partnership marketing with hands-on business development, growing Railbookers' presence and sales across the Australian travel trade.

The ideal candidate is a results-driven relationship builder with a proven track record in travel trade sales, business development or partnership marketing, ideally in the travel industry. You will spend your time both in the field, visiting travel agents and calling them proactively, and building joint marketing programs with our trade partners. Excellent organisation and planning skills, a proactive mindset, strong communication, critical thinking and attention to detail are required.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Trade sales and business development: Grow sales through the Australian travel trade by proactively calling, emailing and visiting travel agents, agency groups and consortia.
  • Agent training and events: Deliver product training to travel agents in person and online, and represent Railbookers at trade shows, roadshows and industry events.
  • Partnership marketing: Develop and execute joint marketing plans with trade partners, aligned with the Director of Partnership Marketing and company revenue goals.
  • Partner performance reviews: Lead regular business reviews with key partners, presenting performance data, revenue results, insights and growth opportunities.
  • Joint campaigns and promotions: Create and execute co-marketing campaigns and sales promotions with partners and agency groups that drive revenue and reinforce key brand messaging.
  • Negotiation and budgets: Negotiate partner marketing commitments and promotional terms, and manage trade marketing budgets, tracking spend and return on investment.
  • Analysis and reporting: Work with the Analytics team to monitor trade and partnership performance, including sales data, booking trends and campaign results, and report regularly to senior leadership.
  • Trade communications: Ensure special offers, deals and new products are communicated to agents and partners consistently and on time, including through trade newsletters and agent portals.
  • Market insight: Share agent feedback, competitor activity and market trends with the wider sales and marketing teams to shape product and campaigns for the Australian market.
  • Presentations and materials: Create internal and agent-facing presentations and sales materials, keeping brand and messaging accurate and up to date.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
