The Trade Specialist oversees and participates in the construction, installation, modification, maintenance, and repairs of electrical appliances, systems, facilities, and related electronic controls of varying design or complexity.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage employees and participate in the construction, installation, modification, maintenance, and repair of electrical appliances, systems, facilities, and related electronic controls and devices by interpreting blueprints, manufacturers’ specifications, and written and verbal instructions.
  • Create estimates and scope of work for electrical and handyman service work orders.
  • Develop schedules, assign work, and train employees.
  • Motivate electricians and technicians to improve productivity and achieve performance goals.
  • Ensure proper maintenance, care, and availability of tools, vehicles, and equipment.
  • Enforce compliance with electrical codes and company safety regulations.
  • Assist with electrical system installation, troubleshooting, and repairs when needed.
  • Review technician work orders, check technicians in and out of jobs, and ensure all work is completed, documented, and meets quality standards.
  • Communicate with clients regarding job progress, scope changes, Not-To-Exceed (NTE) increases, labor hours, and required materials while technicians are onsite.
  • Provide real-time troubleshooting and technical support to technicians by phone or remote communication.
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates by tracking material expenses.
  • Prepare purchase documentation for submission to the Verification Department for processing.
  • Conduct interviews, onboard new employees, and perform regular performance evaluations, including disciplinary write-ups and Performance Improvement Plans.
  • Remain available to support weekend and after-hours emergency service calls as needed.
