Trading Platform Application Engineer
Salary: $6,500 – $6,800 per month
About the role
Key responsibilities
Deliver application projects, enhancements, and change requests across electronic trading platforms.
Develop, maintain, and enhance Java-based applications, services, integrations, and supporting components.
Build automation scripts and operational tools to improve platform efficiency, stability, monitoring, and resiliency.
Support application onboarding, environment configuration, testing, deployment, and production implementation.
Troubleshoot application, connectivity, integration, and production issues; perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
Collaborate with business users, infrastructure teams, vendors, brokers, trading venues, and external counterparties.
Contribute to platform modernization, monitoring, automation, performance optimization, and operational resilience initiatives.
Participate in production support, release deployments, incident management, and operational readiness activities.
Prepare and maintain technical documentation, implementation guides, runbooks, and operational procedures.
MANDATORY SKILLS
Minimum 3 years of professional experience in software development and application support.
Strong hands-on experience in Java development and enterprise application engineering.
Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix administration, system monitoring, and troubleshooting.
Practical scripting experience using Bash, KornShell (KSH), Python, or similar scripting technologies.
Experience working with distributed, scalable, high-throughput, and production-critical applications.
Good understanding of application performance tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting.
Strong experience in production support, incident resolution, and root cause analysis.
Good working knowledge of SQL and relational database systems.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, release processes, deployment practices, and source-control workflows.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Hands-on or working knowledge of FIX Protocol, including FIX 4.x and/or FIX 5.x.
Experience supporting or developing electronic trading platforms
Knowledge of Treasury & Markets / Capital Markets technology and workflows
Domain exposure to Foreign Exchange (FX), Fixed Income, Equities, or related trading products
Experience with Kafka, IBM MQ / messaging systems, AMQ, REST APIs, and microservices architectures
