Traffic Management Specialist

Provides technical assistance to contractors and to DCMA personnel on transportation matters.

Performs surveillance over contractor traffic management plans, procedures and operations.

Monitors freight rate operation and resolves problems involving contractors, Government contract management personnel, commercial carriers and other Federal agencies.

Coordinates customer complaints of poor carrier performance with carrier representative and Transportation staff.

Recommends actions to suspend or remove from service carriers that fail to perform satisfactorily.

Makes final approval of shipment charges for carrier payment through Syncada (banking system) after Post-Audits of Bill of Ladings (BOLs).

Utilizes transportation regulations and DCMA policy for specific geographic areas of international shipments, Foreign Military Sales (FMS), Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) and shipments requiring protective services.

Develops and evaluates transportation requirements.
